Baptism

At Fellowship Bible Church, we are excited to see all believers become spiritually mature. When a person responds to the gospel of Jesus Christ and trusts Him as Savior, one of his or her steps of obedience to the Lord's commands should be to be baptized.

Baptism is a public declaration of a believer's response to the gospel. As we go and make disciples, Jesus calls us to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is a picture of a person's spiritual death, burial and resurrection in Christ (Romans 6:3-11). Being baptized however, does not save a person.  Salvation only comes by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism is, though, the way Jesus has given believers to show others that they have been saved by and are following Him.

PROCESS

    • Attend one of our quarterly baptism classes. In part one of this class, you will learn about the ordinance of baptism as well as what happens on baptism day at FBC.  In part two of this class, you will have a conversation with an elder, deacon or pastor to discuss your testimony and to learn more about what baptism means as part of your new life in Christ.
    • Be baptized. After attending class, our desire for you is that you will be baptized on the next available baptism date. If you are unable to be baptized on that date, we would love for you to be baptized on the next available date.
